New Intellitactics SAFE Appliances Provide New Opportunity for Any Organization to Reap the Benefits of Effective Information Security Risk Management
Discarding the one size fits all mentality of the SIEM market, Intellitactics right sizes logging plus event management on one eco-friendly appliance
RSA Conference and Expo, San Francisco, CA, April 8, 2008—Intellitactics unveils Intellitactics™ SAFE (SAFE), a new product line of security appliances for security organizations interested in log management, compliance and decreasing the number of security- and compliance-related incidents. Intellitactics SAFE appliances, simple-to-deploy and easy-to-use, enable every organization to achieve best-in-class results, whether their focus is audit-worthy reports, extreme logging or operational efficiency. The first two appliances, announced at the RSA Conference this week, are: SAFE LP, offering complete logging plus event management in one appliance, and SAFE LA, which simplifies the collection of logs from anywhere and forwards logs to other SAFE appliances or to the company’s enterprise security management solution, Intellitactics™ Security Manager (ISM).
To meet market requirements for the SAFE appliances, Intellitactics partnered with appliance vendor NEI of Canton, MA. Hugh Kelly, senior vice president of marketing with NEI, comments on the partnership: “Working with Intellitactics to develop the appliance platform for the Intellitactics SAFE appliances gave NEI an opportunity to do what we do best – understand the client's business objectives and develop the best appliance platform to exceed their customers' expectations. This announcement comes a week after the company announced three new channel partners in North America and released a story on the company’s new active integration and response™ (AIR) technology, which is rapidly expanding the size of its eco-system. With this new product direction, reflected in the SAFE appliances, Intellitactics is stepping into the broader market with a new business model. The SAFE appliances deliver stand-alone capability or can be hierarchically deployed when security management is shared between remote locations and headquarters. Each appliance aims to increase accessibility to SIEM, but discards the one size fits all approach of other vendors. SAFE LP, as an example, offers complete functionality on one appliance and is available in several sizes to ensure that the anticipated volume of logs and events can be processed and stored without impacting product performance or reliability. Intellitactics SAFE appliances provide plug-and-play logging and logging plus event management appliances that stand alone or can be combined in a hierarchical deployment for organizations with distributed management of security. SAFE appliances are built to military standards and can be securely managed through a web-based graphical interface.

SAFE LP is the logging plus event management appliance that uncovers hidden information in the logs. SAFE LA is an affordable appliance designed to simply collect logs from any source located anywhere and safely delivers the encrypted, compressed logs to an SDW. The reliable SAFE LA delivers high-performance log collection 365x7x24 and is ideally suited for un-manned remote locations.
Because each appliance is self-contained, you only need one appliance. SAFE is good for the environmentally responsible. Choosing SAFE doesn’t require multiple appliances taking up rack room to accommodate log volume. There is less energy consumed and less energy required for cooling crowded racks.
