Intellitactics Featured in Black Hat Training Event with Security University

University Provides Practical, Real-World Context for Qualified Information Security Professional Series

Las Vegas , NV, July 30, 2007 —Intellitactics, an enterprise security management software company, announced that Intellitactics Security Manager, a comprehensive security management solution for strengthening enterprise defenses, is one of several vendor products selected by Security University for their sold out training event at Black Hat in Las Vegas this week. Security University is conducting their EDGE Class, the first in a series of four classes offered to security professionals leading toward accreditation as a Qualified Information Security Professional (QISP).

Since its founding in 1999, the Virginia-based Security University has trained thousands of professionals in classes soon to be offered in major cities across the United States. Sondra Schneider, CEO of Security University, explains the popularity of the Security University curriculum: “We create a real-life environment with scenarios that reflect the conditions that test the skills of security professionals. We fill a void in the training market. This is our first appearance at Black Hat and the classes sold out in a matter of days.”

Schneider brings energy to training that could be dull and tedious: “The four-day EDGE class emphasizes the importance of knowing the architecture to better understand the potential for vulnerabilities. We cover routers, firewalls, network access control, network behavior, content filtering and trojans; and bring it all together on the fourth day while looking at the value of centralized consoles like Intellitactics Security Manager.” She goes on to explain, “Most companies and federal agencies start with the EDGE class and move on to Qualified Security Analyst, Qualified Forensic Expert and Qualified Security Hacker and Defender. These four classes and exams lead to accreditation as a “QISP Qualified Information Security Professional.”

Tom Wallace, Vice President of Customer Service for Intellitactics, explained their participation in the class. “At Intellitactics, we like to surround our customers with the services, support and training they need to derive more value from their software solution. This type of training helps companies arm their employees with the skills they need to achieve compliance objectives and defend the enterprise from internal and external attacks. In the face of escalating threats, highly competent professionals is one weapon in the arsenal you can’t do without.”
