Intellitactics Security Manager Introduces Meta Controls to Manage Control and Mitigate RiskRSA Conference, San Jose, CA, February 13, 2006—Intellitactics unveiled plans for a major enhancement to their enterprise security management solution, Intellitactics Security Manager, to meet the needs of enterprises and federal agencies implementing operational risk management to enforce policies and reduce risk.
Cybercrime and regulatory legislation have brought risk management to the forefront, resulting in a need for organizations to take a more proactive, measured and methodical approach to risk management. Operational risk management, an emerging management discipline, advances information security as a strategic component of the overall corporate risk management strategy. The new Security Manager capabilities enrich the enterprise security risk management model by incorporating IT best practices for information security.
In a survey covering compliance-sensitive enterprises in financial services, healthcare, government, education, and manufacturing industries, 96% of respondents indicated the use formal standards and guidelines, in IT and beyond, such as ITIL, ISO 17799, and IT control frameworks for security and compliance management. Of these respondents, 58% observe strict adherence to these standards, according to a new research report, Security, Compliance and Enterprise Management: Key Domains of Convergence by Enterprise Management Associates.
Intellitactics Security Manager plans to deliver a meta set of controls for companies adopting ISO 17799 and federal agencies implementing strict adherence to NIST SP 800-53 controls. The product will generate alerts based on control exceptions, violations and anomalies and provide out of box control-based reports that describe control performance for compliance audits. The reports are aligned to compliance initiatives like SOX and FISMA. The results produced by controls monitoring and reporting significantly enriches the security assurance metrics™ displayed on Intellitactics SAM, the company’s innovative executive dashboard.
