Intellitactics’ LeFort to Present to Security Professionals at RSA

Credentialed Security Expert to Discuss Importance of COBIT in Sustaining Compliance Environment

Reston, VA, February 7, 2005—Intellitactics, Inc. will present at the 14th annual RSA Conference and Expo to be held in San Francisco, CA at the Moscone Convention Center on February 14-18, 2005. The RSA Conference is the largest information security event, and is the most comprehensive venue for information security professionals to evaluate new approaches and develop innovative strategies and tactics to defeat today's biggest information security threats.

Alan LeFort, Director of Professional Services at Intellitactics, will present on, “Sustaining a Compliance Environment.” The presentation will address the importance of COBIT in building and sustaining a compliance environment and the value of Intellitactics Security Manager as an essential part of a risk management strategy. Former head of the University of Toronto’s Continuing Education Security Program, LeFort is a credentialed security expert and holds the titles of CISSP, CISA and PMP.

COBIT, issued by the IT Governance Institute, is internationally accepted as good practice for control over information, IT and related risks; and is a vital guiding standard for organizations responding to regulatory legislation. Compliance with the regulations of Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA and FISMA implies the implementation of security controls and measurement to verify and validate that controls are working. COBIT provides a framework for implementing such controls to establish and sustain a compliance environment for long-term value. COBIT also provides a path to adopt processes and control objectives requisite to maturing the capabilities of a security team.

LeFort will explore the increasing need for IT governance and compliance; and the rise in the number of IT security teams implementing Security Information Management (SIM) solutions to verify that the controls are working. Discussion topics include:
