Intellitactics is First SIM Software Provider to Achieve Common Criteria Certification

Sponsored by Communications Security Establishment and National Information Assurance Partnership, certification provides value to customers evaluating SIM solutions

Reston, VA, Dec 15, 2004—Intellitactics, Inc., provider of the premier Security Information Management (SIM) solution that ensures the availability, confidentiality and integrity of critical information assets, today announced it has achieved Common Criteria certification under the Communications Security Establishment (CSE) program. Ensuring Intellitactics’ software meets the stringent requirements imposed by Common Criteria’s international information security standards enhances the US based company’s global acceptance with government agencies and multi-national companies alike.

Common Criteria is a widely recognized ISO standard ratified in 17 countries. CSE and NIAP are two of the international communities enforcing the standard through the Common Criteria Recognition Arrangement (CCRA). The NIAP program is jointly operated by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the National Security Agency (NSA) to evaluate IT product conformance to international standards. Officially known as the Common Criteria Evaluation and Valuation Scheme (CCEVS) for IT Security, the program is sponsored worldwide by several government agencies from Canada, France, Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States.

“Achieving Common Criteria certification is a significant milestone for Intellitactics, and an important validation of our software,” said Intellitactics President, Chief Executive Officer Randall K. Davis. “The National Assurance Information Partnership is a successful collaboration of the public and private sector. We made a significant investment in the process and believe we have a better product because of it.”

Intellitactics is the SIM software of choice based on its unique ability to make sense of data from existing investments to sustain availability of the information infrastructure and verify and validate the controls that ensure the confidentiality and integrity of information across the enterprise.

Intellitactics Vice President of Development Terry Low emphasized the value to customers: “This investment is highly valued by our customers. Common Criteria certification gives them the confidence to select commercial off-the-shelf technology products that they know meet stringent security requirements.”
